Senior real estate executives gather at Portugal GRI 2022

Conference will discuss Portugal’s position as a prime investment destination in the European market

Consolidating Portugal’s position as a major investment destination country in the European market, PORTUGAL GRI 2022 will have its annual conference on the 1st and 2nd of June, in Lisbon, at the InterContinental Hotel. 

Over 100 top industry leaders from all regions of Europe are expected at the event to debate current and future challenges and opportunities in the Portuguese market, to exchange different views and industry insights and to promote quality networking between the executives. 

Among the participants, the meetings will be joined by a well-balanced and heterogeneous group of senior investors, fund managers, asset owners, LP's, GP's, financiers, developers and operators active across the European market and with an interest in the Portuguese market.

With two days worth of discussions, the talks will take place behind closed doors and in English. The roundtable format is designed to encourage everyone’s participation as it allows people to interact and engage freely among peers. The conference aims to facilitate the exchanging of ideas and to help build valuable relationships.

What to Expect from the PORTUGAL GRI 2022?

A diverse group of executives discuss the Portuguese market

Kicking off the conference, Rui Constantino, Chief Economist, Head of Research and Strategic Financial Analyst at Banco Santander Totta will deliver the keynote address on the Macroeconomic Challenges of 2022, detailing future opportunities in the Portuguese market.

The session “Injecting International Capital into Portugal Real Estate” will have Pedro Coelho, Chairman at Square Asset Management, as a moderator. Discussions will address international investments and how Portugal can attract and retain foreing capital.

On the asset specific stream there will be a session on operational opportunities led by Hugo Santos Ferreira, President of APPII, to discuss institutionalisation and active management. On future trends, partnerships among operators, developers and investors will be highlighted. 

Eric van Leuven, Managing Partner at Cushman & Wakefield Portugal, will lead a session on the recovery of the hospitality sector after Covid-19, where demand, hotel investments and opportunities with mixed use developments will be featured.

Residential portfolio strategies, Light Industrial & Logistics, Resi for rent, shopping and retail and offices will also be thoroughly explored themes. The closing panel will be on Pan-European Investors, with the moderation of João Pita, Vice President of Development Management at Round Hill Capital.
